FAIRBANKS, Alaska — U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola addressed supporters at a campaign gathering in Fairbanks on Monday, November 2, emphasizing Alaska’s high cost of living and encouraging voter participation ahead of Tuesday’s general election.

During the gathering at Gather in downtown Fairbanks, Peltola discussed several issues affecting Alaskans, including grocery prices, gasoline, heating oil, healthcare and housing.

Peltola criticized corporate greed and argued that the rising cost of living has made it increasingly difficult for residents to remain in Alaska.

She also emphasized the importance of keeping younger generations in the state, calling for more employment opportunities and improvements to affordability.

The former U.S. representative discussed Social Security, Medicaid, childcare, education and housing shortages as issues she believes require attention.

Peltola praised her campaign volunteers, claiming that more than 15,000 Alaskans had participated in campaign activities. She described volunteers knocking on doors, making phone calls and encouraging residents to vote.

With Election Day approaching, Peltola urged supporters to continue reaching out to voters and helping those who might have difficulty getting to polling places.

She also discussed early voting, claiming that participation had broken records and that younger voters were showing significant interest in the election.

Despite expressing confidence in her campaign, Peltola acknowledged that the race remained close and emphasized the importance of voter turnout.

The gathering concluded with supporters joining Peltola in a campaign chant expressing confidence in the upcoming election.

Peltola is challenging incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan in Alaska’s November 3 general election.
